Scotland Island is located at the south end of Pittwater which is in the Northern suburbs of Sydney.

Pittwater is a body of water enclosed except to the North where it joins the Hawkesbury River at its mouth. It is bounded to the west by Ku-ring-gai National Park, to the East by Newport, Avalon and Palm Beach and to the South by Bayview and Church Point.
